Course Overview
This course will discuss the insights and skills necessary to developing a successful compliance program and to understanding the internal controls and systems necessary to adequately support and manage Government contracts. Knowing how to manage and administer compliant Government contracts has never been more important. With tighter Government budgets and increased scrutiny of costs, manpower, and resources, contractors must prepare for and manage audits effectively, as well.

Learn How To:

  • Implement a Successful Contract Compliance Program
  • Maintain and Administer an Effective Compliance Program
  • Understand the "Power of the Purse" with Respect to the Expenditure of Public Funds
  • Identify a Company Compliance Officer
  • Identify the Primary and Key Policies and Procedures to Be Developed First
  • Assess the Primary and Key Training Programs to Be Initiated First
  • Initiate a Cost Accounting Program
  • Implement Time Keeping, Expense Reports, and Credit Cards Programs
  • Prepare for Key Government Audits and Reviews
  • Identify the Key Players [i.e. Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)]
  • Access the Government Audit "Bible" [i.e. Defense Contract Audit Agency Manual (DCAAM)]
  • Avoid, Mitigate, Resolve Negative or Unsuccessful Audit Findings
  • Identify Suspect or Fraudulent Practices and Implement Corrective Actions
  • Learn How to Be a "Low Risk Contractor"
