As Director of Seton Hill University's E-Magnify where she has been employed for nearly 20 years, Jayne H. Huston is responsible for the strategic vision and administrative oversight of E-Magnify, a United States Small Business Administration (US SBA) supported women’s business center serving start-up and growing women-owned enterprises in a 27-county Western Pennsylvania marketplace. The women’s business center is part of a national network of more than a hundred such centers in the United States.
Under Huston's direction, E-Magnify provides resource support to women entrepreneurs through business counseling, education and training and mentoring programs and services. In 2013, she led the organization in forming a strategic alliance with another regional leader in the women’s entrepreneurial community. PowerLink offerings, including a highly successful program providing women business owners with a high level board of advisors, are now offered exclusively through E-Magnify.
Huston's International travels include China where she has accompanied a group of women entrepreneurs from the Women Presidents' Organization (WPO) Chapters in Southwestern PA who joined her in presenting at an International Business Conference with Chinese women entrepreneurs. "Conference on Sino-American Women Entrepreneurship" was hosted at the Nanjing University School of Business, Nanjing, China. She serves as Chair for the Greensburg WPO Chapter, an International organization of multi-million dollar companies that engage in peer-to-peer learning to grow their companies.
In February 2013, Huston was among 25 recipients of the "BusinessWomen First Awards" presented by the Pittsburgh Business Times. In 2011, she was recognized among the recipients of the Women of Achievement Awards in Pittsburgh as well as received Gannon University Small Business Development Center's Legacy Award at the Women in Leadership Development (WILD) Conference in Erie. She has also been recognized as the U.S. SBA's Women's Business Advocate, Region III; and counted among the "Top 100 People" and "Entrepreneur of the Year" (Non Profit) by Pennsylvania Business Central.
Huston currently serves on Pittsburgh Magazine's "Spotlight on Women in Business" Advisory Panel, the Status of Women in Westmoreland County Project Team and is a board member for AccessAbilities and the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) where she also leads the Development Committee. She is also a member of the United Way of Westmoreland County's Women's Leadership Council and served on the Women's Executive Committee for the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open.
Prior to coming to Seton Hill University, Huston had a successful health care marketing communications career in South Central Pennsylvania during which time she led the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania's PR & Marketing Society. She also served as Executive Director of the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce.
Huston earned an MBA from Seton Hill University and a BA in Journalism and Communications from Point Park University. She and her husband, Larry, who have three adult children and two grandchildren, live at Chestnut Ridge Resort located near Blairsville.
