The word “professional” cannot be defined solely with one concept, idea, or thought. Dr. Jack Ciak, assistant professor of communications at Seton Hill University, believes that the areas of a professional differ depending on an individual’s career. “Professionalism is more of an attitude—a way of approaching your work. It is how you do your job, how you use your knowledge, apply your tools, put your best effort forth to gain proficiency in your career,” Ciak said.
